🪔 Verse 1

अङ्गं हरेः पुलकभूषणमाश्रयन्ती भृङ्गाङ्गनेव मुकुलाभरणं तमालम्। अङ्गीकृताखिलविभूतिरपाङ्गलीला माङ्गल्यदास्तु मम मङ्गलदेवतायाः॥ १ ॥

Transliteration: Aṅgaṃ hareḥ pulaka-bhūṣaṇam āśrayantī bhṛṅgāṅganeva mukulābharaṇaṃ tamālam। aṅgīkṛtākhila-vibhūtir-apāṅga-līlā māṅgalyadāstu mama maṅgala-devatāyāḥ॥1॥

Meaning: May the auspicious glance of the Goddess, who dwells in the body of Hari like bees on blossoming Tamala trees, Who possesses all prosperity and whose sidelong glances grant auspiciousness, Bring good fortune to me.

मुग्धा मुहुर्विदधती वदने मुरारेः प्रेमत्रपाप्रणिहितानि गतागतानि। माला दृशोर्मधुकरीव महोत्पले या सा मे श्रियं दिशतु सागरसम्भवायाः॥ २ ॥

Transliteration: Mugdhā muhur-vidadhatī vadane murāreḥ prematrapā-praṇihitāni gatāgatāni। mālā dṛśor-madhukarīva mahōtpale yā sā me śriyaṃ diśatu sāgara-sambhavāyāḥ॥2॥

Meaning: May the beautiful, modest, love-filled glances of the ocean-born Goddess, Which move to and fro on the face of Murari like bees on a lotus, Bestow prosperity upon me.

आमीलिताक्षमधिगम्य मुदा मुकुन्दम् आनन्दकन्दमनिमेषमनङ्गतन्त्रम्। आकेकरस्थितकनीनिकपक्ष्मनेत्रं भूत्यै भवेन मम भुजङ्गशयाङ्गनायाः॥ ३ ॥

Transliteration: Āmīlitākṣa-madhigamya mudā Mukundam ānanda-kandam-animeṣa-mananga-tantram। āke-karasthita-kanīnika-pakṣma-netraṃ bhūtyai bhaven mama bhujaṅga-śayāṅganāyāḥ॥3॥

Meaning: May the half-closed, joy-filled eyes of Lakshmi, Who is the beloved of the serpent-bed Lord (Vishnu), Grant me prosperity.

बाह्वन्तरे मधुजितः श्रितकौस्तुभे या हारावलीव हरिनीलमयी विभाति। कामप्रदा भगवतोऽपि कटाक्षमाला कल्याणमावहतु मे कमलालयायाः॥ ४ ॥

Transliteration: Bāhvantare madhujitaḥ śrita-kaustubhe yā hārāvalīva hari-nīlamayī vibhāti। kāmapradā bhagavato’pi kaṭākṣamālā kalyāṇam-āvahatu me kamalālayāyāḥ॥4॥

Meaning: May the necklace-like glances of Lakshmi, blue as a sapphire garland resting between the arms of Vishnu, Which grant desires even to the Lord, Bring auspiciousness to me.

कालाम्बुदालिललितोरसि कैटभारेर् धाराधरे स्फुरति या टिटिडङ्गनेव। मातुः समस्तजगतां महनीयमूर्तिर् भद्राणि मे दिशतु भार्गवनन्दनायाः॥ ५ ॥

Transliteration: Kālāmbudāli-lalitorasi kaiṭabhāreḥ dhārādhare sphurati yā taṭidaṅganeva। mātuḥ samasta-jagatāṃ mahanīya-mūrtir bhadrāṇi me diśatu bhārgava-nandanāyāḥ॥5॥

Meaning: May the form of Lakshmi, daughter of Bhrigu, Shining on the chest of Vishnu like lightning on a dark cloud, Grant me prosperity and well-being.

प्राप्तं पदं प्रथमतः खलु यत्प्रभावात् माङ्गल्यभाजि मधुमाथिनि मन्यथेन। मय्यापतेत्तदिह मन्थरमीक्षणार्धं मन्दालसं च मकरालयकन्यकायाः॥ ६ ॥

Transliteration: Prāptaṃ padaṃ prathamataḥ khalu yat-prabhāvāt māṅgalya-bhāji madhu-māthini manyathena। mayyāpatet-tadiha mantharam-īkṣaṇārdhaṃ mandālasaṃ ca makarālaya-kanyakāyāḥ॥6॥

Meaning: May the slow, gentle, sidelong glance of Lakshmi, Daughter of the ocean, which first blessed even the slayer of Madhu (Vishnu), Fall upon me and grant me auspiciousness.

विश्वामरेन्द्रपदविभ्रमदानदक्षं आनन्दहेतुरधिकं मुरविद्विषोऽपि। ईषन्निशीदतु मयि क्षणमीक्षणार्थं इन्दीवरोदरसहोदरमिन्दिरायाः॥ ७ ॥

Transliteration: Viśvāmarendra-pada-vibhrama-dāna-dakṣaṃ ānanda-hetur-adhikaṃ mura-vidviṣo’pi। īṣan-niṣīdatu mayi kṣaṇam-īkṣaṇārthaṃ indīvara-odara-sahodaram-indirāyāḥ॥7॥

Meaning: May the lotus-like glance of Indira (Lakshmi), Which grants the pleasures of the heavens even to Indra, Rest upon me for a moment, bestowing supreme bliss.

इष्टा विशिष्टमतयोऽपि यया दयार्द्र दृष्ट्या त्रिविष्टपपदं सुलभं लभन्ते। दृष्टिः प्रहृष्टकमलोदरदीप्तिरिष्टां पुष्टिं कृशीष्ट मम पुष्करविष्टरायाः॥ ८ ॥

Transliteration: Iṣṭā viśiṣṭa-matayo’pi yayā dayārdra dṛṣṭyā triviṣṭapa-padaṃ sulabhaṃ labhante। dṛṣṭiḥ prahṛṣṭa-kamalodara-dīptir-iṣṭāṃ puṣṭiṃ kṛśīṣṭa mama puṣkara-viṣṭarāyāḥ॥8॥

Meaning: May the compassionate, lotus-bright glance of Lakshmi, By which even the most distinguished attain heaven, Grant me nourishment and prosperity.

दद्याद् दयानुपवनो द्रविणाम्बुधाराम् अस्मिन्नकिञ्चनविहङ्गशिशौ विषण्णे। दुष्कर्मघर्ममपनीय चिराय दूरं नारायणप्रणयिनी नयनाम्बुवाहः॥ ९ ॥

Transliteration: Dadyād dayānupavano draviṇāmbu-dhārām asminn-akiñcana-vihaṅga-śiśau viṣaṇṇe। duṣkarma-gharma-mapanīya cirāya dūraṃ nārāyaṇa-praṇayinī nayanāmbu-vāhaḥ॥9॥

Meaning: May the cloud of Lakshmi’s compassion shower a stream of wealth Upon this poor, helpless one, Washing away the heat of bad karma with her loving glance.

गीर्देवतेति गरुडध्वजसुन्दरीति शाकम्भरीति शशिशेखरवल्लभेति। सृष्टिस्थितिप्रलयकेलिषु संस्थितायै तस्यै नमस्त्रिभुवनैकगुरोस्तरुण्यै॥ १० ॥

Transliteration: Gīrdevateti garuḍa-dhvaja-sundarīti śākambharīti śaśi-śekhara-vallabheti। sṛṣṭi-sthiti-pralaya-keliṣu saṃsthitāyai tasyai namas-tribhuvanaika-gurostaruṇyai॥10॥

Meaning: Salutations to the youthful Goddess, Worshipped as the deity of speech, consort of Vishnu and Shiva, Who plays in creation, preservation, and destruction, The sole teacher of the three worlds.

नमोऽस्तु नालीकनिभाननायै नमोऽस्तु दुग्धोदधिजन्मभूम्यै। नमोऽस्तु सोमामृतसोदरायै नमोऽस्तु नारायणवल्लभायै॥ १२ ॥

Transliteration: Namo’stu nālīka-nibhānanāyai namo’stu dugdhodadhi-janmabhūmyai। namo’stu somāmṛta-sodarāyai namo’stu nārāyaṇa-vallabhāyai॥12॥

Meaning: Salutations to you whose face resembles a lotus, Salutations to you born from the ocean of milk, Salutations to you, sister of the moon and nectar, Salutations to you, beloved of Narayana[3][6].

नमोऽस्तु हेमाम्बुजपीठिकायै नमोऽस्तु भूमण्डलनायिकायै। नमोऽस्तु देवादिदयापरायै नमोऽस्तु शार्ङ्गायुधवल्लभायै॥ १३ ॥

Transliteration: Namo’stu hemāmbuja-pīṭhikāyai namo’stu bhū-maṇḍala-nāyikāyai। namo’stu devādi-dayāparāyai namo’stu śārṅgāyudha-vallabhāyai॥13॥

Meaning: Salutations to you, seated on a golden lotus, Salutations to you, ruler of the world, Salutations to you, compassionate to the gods, Salutations to you, beloved of the wielder of the Sharnga bow (Vishnu)[3][6].

नमोऽस्तु देव्या भृगुनन्दनायै नमोऽस्तु विष्णोरुरसिस्थितायै। नमोऽस्तु लक्ष्म्यै कमलालयायै नमोऽस्तु दामोदरवल्लभायै॥ १४ ॥

Transliteration: Namo’stu devyai bhṛgu-nandanāyai namo’stu viṣṇor-urasi-sthitāyai। namo’stu lakṣmyai kamalālayāyai namo’stu dāmodara-vallabhāyai॥14॥

Meaning: Salutations to you, O Goddess, daughter of Bhrigu, Salutations to you who resides on Vishnu’s chest, Salutations to you, Lakshmi, dwelling in the lotus, Salutations to you, beloved of Damodara[3][6].

Transliteration: Namo’stu kāntyai kamalekṣaṇāyai namo’stu bhūtyai bhuvana-prasūtyai। namo’stu devādibhir-arcitāyai namo’stu nandātmaja-vallabhāyai॥15॥

Meaning: Salutations to you, radiant one with lotus eyes, Salutations to you, source of all prosperity and mother of the universe, Salutations to you, worshipped by the gods, Salutations to you, beloved of Nanda’s son (Krishna)[3][6].

सम्पत्कराणि सकलेन्द्रियनन्दनानि साम्राज्यदानविभवानि सरोरुहाक्षि। त्वद्वन्दनानि दुरितोद्धरणोद्यतानि मामेव मातरनिशं कलयन्तु अन्ये॥ १६ ॥

Transliteration: Sampat-karāṇi sakalendriya-nandanāni sāmrājya-dāna-vibhavāni saroruhākṣi। tvad-vandanāni duritoddharaṇodyatāni māmeva mātar-niśaṃ kalayantu nānye॥16॥

Meaning: O lotus-eyed Mother, may only your worship, which brings wealth, delights all the senses, Grants sovereignty and removes all misfortunes, Be with me always, not anything else[6].

यत्कटाक्षसमुपासनाविधिः सेवकस्य सकलार्थसम्पदः। सन्तनोति वचनाङ्गमानसैः त्वां मुरारिहृदयेश्वरीं भजे॥ १७ ॥

Transliteration: Yat-kaṭākṣa-samupāsanā-vidhiḥ sevakasyā sakalārtha-sampadaḥ। santanoti vacanāṅga-mānasaiḥ tvāṃ murāri-hṛdayeśvarīṃ bhaje॥17॥

Meaning: The devotee who worships your sidelong glance Is blessed with all forms of wealth and prosperity. With words, body, and mind I worship you, O Queen of Murari’s heart (Lakshmi)[6].

सरसिजनिलये सरोजहस्ते धवलतमांशुकगन्धमाल्यशोभे। भगवति हरिवल्लभे मनोज्ञे त्रिभुवनभूतिकरि प्रसीद मह्यम्॥ १८ ॥

Transliteration: Sarasija-nilaye saroja-haste dhavala-tamāṃśuka-gandha-mālya-śobhe। bhagavati hari-vallabhe manojñe tribhuvana-bhūti-kari prasīda mahyam॥18॥

Meaning: O Goddess, who dwells on the lotus, holding a lotus in your hand, Adorned in pure white garments and fragrant garlands, Beloved of Hari, enchanting one, Bestower of prosperity to the three worlds, please show compassion to me[3][6].

दिग्घस्तिभिः कनककुम्भमुखावसृष्ट स्वर्वाहिनी विमलचारुजलप्लुताङ्गीम्। प्रातर्नमामि जगतां जननीमशेष लोकाधिनाथगृहीणीममृताब्धिपुत्रीम्॥ १९ ॥

Transliteration: Dig-ghastibhiḥ kanaka-kumbha-mukhāvasṛṣṭa svarvāhinī vimala-cāru-jala-plutāṅgīm। prātar-namāmi jagatāṃ jananīm-aśeṣa lokādhinātha-gṛhiṇīm-amṛtābdhi-putrīm॥19॥

Meaning: In the morning I bow to the Mother of all worlds, Wife of the Lord of the universe, daughter of the ocean of nectar, Who is bathed by the pure waters of the heavenly Ganga, Poured from golden vessels by the celestial elephants[3][6].

कमले कमलाक्षवल्लभे त्वं करुणापूरतरङ्गितैरपाङ्गैः। अवलोकय मामकिञ्चनानां प्रथमं पात्रमकृत्रिमं दयायाः॥ २० ॥

Transliteration: Kamale kamalākṣa-vallabhe tvaṃ karuṇā-pūra-taraṅgitair-apāṅgaiḥ। avalokaya mām-akiñcanānāṃ prathamaṃ pātram-akṛtrimaṃ dayāyāḥ॥20॥

Meaning: O Kamala, beloved of the lotus-eyed Lord, With your waves of compassionate glances, Look upon me, the destitute, As the foremost and most deserving recipient of your mercy[3][6].
