नमो नमो दुर्गे सुख करनी। नमो नमो अंबे दुःख हरनी॥ निराकार है ज्योति तुम्हारी। तिहूं लोक फैली उजियारी॥

Transliteration: Namo namo Durge sukh karanī. Namo namo Ambe duḥkh haranī. Nirākār hai jyoti tumhārī. Tihū̃ lok phaīlī ujyārī.

Meaning: Salutations to Durga, the giver of happiness! Salutations to Amba, who removes suffering! Your essence is formless divine light, Illuminating all the three worlds.

शशि ललाट मुख महाविशाला। नेत्र लाल भृकुटि विकराला॥ रूप मातु को अधिक सुहावे। दर्श करत जन अति सुख पावे॥

Transliteration: Shashi lalāt mukh mahā-viśālā. Netra lāl bhrikuṭī vikarālā. Rūp mātu ko adhik suhāve. Darśa karat jan ati sukh pāve.

Meaning: Your forehead shines like the moon; your face is grand. Your eyes are fiery red with a fierce brow. Your form delights the hearts of devotees, Who find immense joy at seeing you.

तुम संसार शक्ति लै कीना। पालन हेतु अन्न धन दीना॥ अन्नपूर्णा हुई जग पाला। तुम ही आदि सुन्दरी बाला॥

Transliteration: Tum sansār śakti laī kīnā. Pālan hetu anna dhan dīnā. Annapūrṇā huī jag pālā. Tum hī ādi sundarī bālā.

Meaning: You embody the power that sustains the world, Providing food and wealth for all. As Annapurna, you nourish the universe, You are the original, beautiful young maiden.

प्रलयकाल सब नाशन हारी। तुम गौरी शिवशंकर प्यारी॥ शिव योगी तुम्हरे गुण गावें। ब्रह्मा विष्णु तुम्हें नित ध्यावें॥

Transliteration: Pralaykāl sab nāśan hārī. Tum Gaurī Śiva-Śaṅkar pyārī. Śiva yogī tumhare guṇa gāveṅ. Brahmā Viṣhṇu tumhen nit dhyāveṅ.

Meaning: You destroy all at the time of cosmic dissolution. You are beloved Gauri, consort of Shiva. Shiva and yogis sing of your virtues, Brahma and Vishnu meditate on you daily.

रूप सरस्वती को तुम धारा। दे सुबुद्धि ऋषि मुनिन उबारा॥ धरयो रूप नरसिंह को अम्बा। परगट भई फाड़कर खम्बा॥

Transliteration: Rūp Sarasvatī ko tum dhārā. De subuddhi ṛṣi munin ubārā. Dharyo rūp Nara_siṃha ko Ambā. Paragaṭ bhaī phāṛkar khambā.

Meaning: You appeared as Saraswati to grant wisdom to sages. You took the form of Narasimha, tearing open the pillar, O Mother.

तुम नमस्ते जग बंदना करती। सदन दस पर अपना धरती॥ त्रिलोक तज तप निधान कुहू। आओ भव सागर से बचाऊ॥

Transliteration: Tum namaste jag bandanā kartī. Sadan das par apnā dhartī. Trilok taj tap nidhān kuhū. Āo bhav sāgar se bacāū.

Meaning: You are saluted and worshipped by all the worlds; Your presence uplifts all beings. You hold the legacy of penance across the three worlds; O Mother, come and rescue us from the ocean of birth and death.

उमा सुत सुहाई सगुन रानी। पंचमहाभूत तुम निध रानी॥ यज्ञ यजत जन न घायल कटय। जनम मरण से तुम बचताय॥

Transliteration: Umā sut suḥāī sagun rānī. Panchmahābhūt tum nidh rānī. Yajña yajat jan na ghāyal kaṭay. Janam maraṇ se tum bacatāy.

Meaning: You are the beloved embodiment of Parvati, the virtuous queen; You are the supreme ruler of the five elements. Those who perform sacrifices in your name are never wounded; You protect devotees from the cycle of birth and death.

नमस्ते धारा जगदम्बे गती कला। तेरे नाम मूल धरती माता॥ शक्तिपाठी रसिक भव बसा। दर्शत जन धरपत जळी सदा॥

Transliteration: Namaste dhārā jagadambe gatī kalā. Tere nām mūl dhartī mātā. Shaktipāṭhī rasik bhav basā. Darshat jan dharapat jaḷī sadā.

Meaning: Salutation to Durga, the source of all creation; The Earth is your sacred abode. You dwell in the hearts of your devotees; They are ever enthralled by your divine sight.

भयो विघ्न मिटय बिलग भाना। चरण गिरहीं विषय न जाना॥ शरणागत जन पालनहारी। **तुमसे बड़ी कोउ न आई॥

Transliteration: Bhayo vighn miṭay bilag bhānā. Charan girahīn viṣay na jānā. Sharaṇāgat jan pālanhārī. Tumse baṛī kou na āī.

Meaning: All obstacles vanish that were once apart from you; Such devotees never fall at your feet in ignorance. You are the protector of those who take refuge; There is no greater power than you.

जय माँ जगदम्बे शक्तिप्रदानी। शरणागत जनो पर रजानी॥ भया प्रभांति दुर्लभ हारी। **देश दशन सहित मारी॥

Transliteration: Jai māṃ jagadambe śakti-pradānī. Sharaṇāgat jano par rajanī. Bhaya prabhānti durlabh hārī. Deśa daśan sahit mārī.

Meaning: Victory to you, Mother of the World, bestower of power! You night-watch over your devotees. Fear and ignorance are conquered; Even enemies fall before your radiant gaze.

चंडी रूप महा शक्ति राली। दश महाविद्या तुम्हि काली॥ अक्षर ब्रह्म स्वरूपा माता। कहैं वेद पुराण तुम्हि ज्ञाता॥

Transliteration: Chaṇḍī rūp mahā śakti rālī. Daśa mahāvidyā tumhī Kālī. Akṣara brahma svarūpā mātā. Kahē̃ ved purāṇ tumhī jñātā.

Meaning: You are fierce Chandi, the great unshakable power. You are Kali, the essence of the ten Mahavidyas. O Mother, you are the eternal form of Brahman, The Vedas and Puranas proclaim you as the ultimate knower.

प्रकट भईं जब असुर संघारा। तब ही नाम धरा महतारा॥ भूधर पर शिव जब तुम आई। शक्ति रूप में तनहिं दिखाई॥

Transliteration: Prakaṭ bhaīṁ jab asur saṅghārā. Tab hī nām dharā mahatārā. Bhūdhar par Śiv jab tum āī. Śakti rūp meṁ tanhiṁ dikhāī.

Meaning: When you appeared to destroy the demons, You earned the supreme name Mahatara (the Great One). When you arrived before Lord Shiva on Mount Kailash, You revealed yourself as the embodiment of Shakti.

शिव ने तब तुमको पहचाना। यथा शक्ति का महत्व जाना॥ बोलें वचन यही गुण गाता। सकल सृष्टि में शक्ति विधाता॥

Transliteration: Śiv ne tab tumko pahchānā. Yathā śakti kā mahatva jānā. Boleṁ vachan yahī guṇ gātā. Sakal sṛṣṭi meṁ śakti vidhātā.

Meaning: Then Shiva recognized your true form, And realized the greatness of your power. He sang your praise and spoke these words: “You are the source of all energy in the universe.”

शक्ति रूप को सभी ने माना। सकल सृष्टि में नाम विख्याना॥ दीनन की तुम हो भरणी। भव बाधा हरणी सुख करनी॥

Transliteration: Śakti rūp ko sabhī ne mānā. Sakal sṛṣṭi meṁ nām vikhyānā. Dīnan kī tum ho bharaṇī. Bhav bādhā haraṇī sukh karṇī.

Meaning: All beings acknowledged your divine Shakti form, Your name is famous across the universe. You are the nourisher of the helpless, Destroyer of worldly miseries, and giver of happiness.

कंचन थाल पुष्प ले आनी। अरघ सुमन दीप जलवानी॥ भोजन भोग लगाय बनाई। दूध मिठाई बहु स्वादु लाई॥

Transliteration: Kañchan thāl puṣp le ānī. Argh suman dīp jalvānī. Bhojan bhog lagāy banāī. Dūdh miṭhāī bahu svādu lāī.

Meaning: We offer you golden plates with flowers, Lit lamps, water, and fragrant garlands. We prepare and present delicious offerings, With milk and sweets, lovingly brought.

भक्त जनों की सेवा लाई। भव सागर से नैया पार लगाई॥ जो कोई ध्यावे मन लाई। तानि भव बाधा निकट न आई॥

Transliteration: Bhakta janon kī sevā lāī. Bhav sāgar se naiyā pār lagāī. Jo koī dhyāve man lāī. Tāni bhav bādhā nikaṭ na āī.

Meaning: You bless the devoted who serve you, Helping their boat cross the ocean of life. Whoever meditates on you with focused mind, Worldly troubles never come near them.

जाप तप व्रत करै न कोई। बिन सेवा फल नाहीं होई॥ शरण पड़े जो तुम्हरे द्वारे। सो जन उबरे संकट सारे॥

Transliteration: Jāp tap vrat karai na koī. Bin sevā phal nāhīṁ hoī. Śaraṇ paṛe jo tumhare dvāre. So jan ubare saṅkaṭ sāre.

Meaning: No amount of chanting, penance or fasting alone, Can bear fruit without your loving service. But the one who takes refuge at your door, Is saved from every hardship.

धन निर्धन को देत सदाआनी। जो कोई तुमको ध्यानी॥ ध्यान में तुम्हारा रूप सुहावन। लोक मातु दयालु कृपावन॥

Transliteration: Dhan nirdhan ko det sadā ānī. Jo koī tumko dhyānī. Dhyān meṁ tumhārā rūp suhāvan. Lok mātu dayālu kṛpāvan.

Meaning: You always grant wealth to the poor, To all who meditate upon you. Your form appears beautiful in deep meditation, O Mother of the world, you are compassionate and merciful.

जो यह पढ़ै चालीसा नारी। सो पावै सिद्धि वारी वारी॥ पुत्रहीन को पुत्र देत तू। धनहीन को संपत्ति हेत तू॥

Transliteration: Jo yah paṛhe Chālīsā nārī. So pāvai siddhi vāri vāri. Putra-hīn ko putra det tū. Dhan-hīn ko sampatti het tū.

Meaning: Any woman who recites this Chalisa regularly, Gains divine success again and again. You give children to the childless, And wealth to those in need.

जो कोई पढ़े मन लगाई। उसकी सुतक और मिटाई॥ सकल सुकृत फल उसे मिलाई। जग में यश ऊंचा करवाई॥

Transliteration: Jo koī paṛhe man lagāī. Uskī sutak aur miṭāī. Sakal sukṛit phal use milāī. Jag meṁ yaś ū̃chā karvāī.

Meaning: Whoever recites with full attention, Is freed from ancestral curses and misfortune. They receive the fruit of all their good deeds, And earn great fame in the world.

दुर्गा रूप है परम दयाली। सेवक के संकट सब टाली॥ जो भी शरण तुम्हारी आवे। सो सुख संपत्ति घर पावे॥

Transliteration: Durgā rūp hai param dayālī. Sevak ke saṅkaṭ sab ṭālī. Jo bhī śaraṇ tumhārī āve. So sukh sampatti ghar pāve.

Meaning: Durga’s form is supremely compassionate, She removes all troubles of her devotees. Whoever seeks refuge at her feet, Receives joy and prosperity in their home.

तुम बिन यज्ञ न होइ काजू। तुम बिन करे न कोउ काजू॥ तुम बिन पूजा न होइ पारू। तुम बिन कौन करे उजियारू॥

Transliteration: Tum bin yajña na hoi kājū. Tum bin kare na kou kājū. Tum bin pūjā na hoi pārū. Tum bin kaun kare ujyārū.

Meaning: Without you, no sacrifice can be fulfilled, No auspicious act can succeed. No worship becomes complete without your grace, Who else but you brings true illumination?

तुम ही हो ब्रह्मा विष्णु माता। तुम ही हो शिव शक्ति विधाता॥ तुम ही जग की रचइया हो। तुम ही जग की सहइया हो॥

Transliteration: Tum hī ho Brahmā Viṣṇu mātā. Tum hī ho Śiv Śakti vidhātā. Tum hī jag kī racaiyā ho. Tum hī jag kī sahaiyā ho.

Meaning: You are the Mother of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, You are the divine force behind Shiva’s power. You are the creator of this universe, You alone are its ultimate protector.

तुम ही जगत का पालन करती। तुम ही जगत की रक्षा करती॥ तुम ही हो शुद्ध चेतन माया। तुम ही अधिष्ठान जग पाया॥

Transliteration: Tum hī jagat kā pālan kartī. Tum hī jagat kī rakṣā kartī. Tum hī ho śuddh chetan māyā. Tum hī adhiṣṭhān jag pāyā.

Meaning: You nurture and sustain the entire world, And you alone protect it from harm. You are the pure, conscious divine illusion (Maya), And the ultimate base of the entire universe.

जो कोई पढ़े तुम्हारा चालीसा। होय सिद्धि सागर जगदीसा॥ दुर्गा दास कहै ध्यान लगाई। पढ़े चालीसा सुख संपत्ति पाई॥

Transliteration: Jo koī paṛhe tumhārā Chālīsā. Hoy siddhi sāgar Jagadīśā. Durgā Dās kahai dhyān lagāī. Paṛhe Chālīsā sukh sampatti pāī.

जो कोई विधिवत पढ़ी चालीसा। होय सिद्धि, पावे मन की इच्छा॥ सकल मनोरथ पूर्ण करावे। दुर्गा कृपा से भव से तरावे॥

Transliteration: Jo koī vidhivat paṛhī Chālīsā. Hoy siddhi, pāve man kī icchhā. Sakal manorath pūrṇ karāve. Durgā kṛpā se bhav se tarāve.

Meaning: Whoever reads this Chalisa with proper devotion, Attains spiritual powers and fulfils their deepest wishes. All desires are granted with your grace, And one crosses the ocean of worldly existence.

भूत पिशाच निकट नहिं आवे। महामाया का नाम जपावे॥ जो ध्यान करै तुझको भवानी। सुख संपत्ति पावे वह प्राणी॥

Transliteration: Bhūt piśāch nikaṭ nahin āve. Mahāmāyā kā nām japāve. Jo dhyān karai tujhko Bhavānī. Sukh sampatti pāve vah prāṇī.

Meaning: Ghosts and evil spirits cannot come near, To those who chant the name of Mahamaya. Anyone who meditates upon you, O Bhavani, Is blessed with happiness and prosperity.

दुर्गा जी को नित्य जो ध्यावे। उसका संकट शीघ्र मिटावे॥ जो कोई संकट में घबरावे। सो नाम जप तुरत उपजावे॥

Transliteration: Durgā jī ko nitya jo dhyāve. Uskā saṅkaṭ śīghra miṭāve. Jo koī saṅkaṭ meṁ ghabarāve. So nām jap turat upajāve.

Meaning: Whoever meditates daily on Goddess Durga, Has their troubles quickly removed. If someone is distressed in danger, Chanting your name immediately brings relief.

तेज तुम्हारा सब जग जाने। जगजननी तुम सब की रानी॥ तुम सम कोउ नहीं जग माहीं। सेवक का दुख हर लौं ताहीं॥

Transliteration: Tej tumhārā sab jag jāne. Jagjananī tum sab kī rānī. Tum sam kou nahīṁ jag māhīṁ. Sevak kā dukh har lauṁ tāhīṁ.

Meaning: The whole world knows of your brilliance, O Mother of the universe, Queen of all beings. There is no one equal to you in the world, You remove all sorrow from your devotees.

तुम ही हो आधार हमारी। करो कृपा अब बार हमारी॥ भव सागर से पार लगावो। मोहे अपने चरण लगावो॥

Transliteration: Tum hī ho ādhār hamārī. Karo kṛpā ab bār hamārī. Bhav sāgar se pār lagāvo. Mohe apne charan lagāvo.

Meaning: You are our only support and refuge, Please now shower your grace on us. Help us cross this ocean of worldly existence, And place us at your sacred feet.

तुम बिन जीवन शून्य हमारा। कृपा करो हे मातु दुलारा॥ हर लो भय संताप हमारे। सुख-संपत्ति दो बारी-बारे॥

Transliteration: Tum bin jīvan śūnya hamārā. Kṛpā karo he mātu dulārā. Har lo bhay santāp hamāre. Sukh-sampatti do bārī-bāre.

Meaning: Without you, our life feels empty and lost, O beloved Mother, please bestow your mercy. Take away our fears and suffering, And grant us happiness and wealth again and again.

भक्ति तुम्हारी मिले दिन रैना। भजूं चरण सदा नित चैना॥ मोहि ज्ञान विवेक सिखायो। अज्ञान अंधेरा दूर भगायो॥

Transliteration: Bhakti tumhārī mile din rainā. Bhajūṁ charan sadā nit chainā. Mohi jñān vivek sikhāyo. Ajñān andherā dūr bhagāyo.

Meaning: May I receive your devotion day and night, And always find peace at your holy feet. Teach me knowledge and discernment, And dispel the darkness of ignorance from my life.

कृपा दृष्टि अब राखो नयना। मातु दया करि हर दुख रैना॥ नित्य चरणन में ध्यान लगाऊं। भवसागर से पार लगाऊं॥

Transliteration: Kṛpā dṛṣṭi ab rākhō nayanā. Mātu dayā kari har dukh rainā. Nitya charanan meṁ dhyān lagāūṁ. Bhavsāgar se pār lagāūṁ.

Meaning: O Mother, keep your merciful gaze upon me, With compassion, remove all my daily sorrow. Let me always focus my thoughts on your feet, And help me cross this ocean of worldly pain.

तुम रक्षक हो संकट हरनी। तुम दयालु कृपालु सुख करनी॥ सर्व सिद्धि फल तुमसे पावें। जो भी तुमको शीश नवावें॥

Transliteration: Tum rakṣak ho saṅkaṭ haranī. Tum dayālu kṛpālu sukh karnī. Sarv siddhi phal tumse pāveṁ. Jo bhī tumko śīśa navāveṁ.

Meaning: You are the protector and remover of distress, Kind, gracious, and the giver of bliss. All attainments come from your blessings, To those who bow their heads before you.

दया करो माँ पार लगावो। अपने भक्त को शरण में लावो॥ तुम ही मेरी आस बहारी। तुम बिन कौन सुने पुकारि॥

Transliteration: Dayā karo māṁ pār lagāvo. Apne bhakt ko śaraṇ meṁ lāvo. Tum hī merī ās bahārī. Tum bin kaun sune pukārī.

Meaning: O Mother, have mercy and help me cross over, Take your devotee into your refuge. You are my only remaining hope, Who else will hear my cries besides you?

जो जन तुम्हरी शरण में आवे। सकल मनोरथ पूर्ण करावें॥ जो कोई पढ़े चालीसा प्यारा। होय सफल जीवन उबारा॥

Transliteration: Jo jan tumharī śaraṇ meṁ āve. Sakal manorath pūrṇ karāve. Jo koī paṛhe Chālīsā pyārā. Hoy safal jīvan ubārā.

Meaning: Anyone who takes refuge in you, O Mother, Will have all their desires fulfilled. Those who lovingly recite this Chalisa, Will find their lives successful and liberated.

रक्षा करो माता संकट भारी। दया करो माँ दुख निस्तारी॥ नाम तुम्हारा जब जब गावे। कष्ट निकट उसके नहिं आवे॥

Transliteration: Rakṣā karo mātā saṅkaṭ bhārī. Dayā karo māṁ duḥkh nistārī. Nām tumhārā jab jab gāve. Kaṣṭ nikaṭ uske nahin āve.

Meaning: Protect us, O Mother, from heavy troubles, Show compassion and destroy all sorrow. Whoever chants your name again and again, Will never be touched by pain or hardship.

जय जय जय जगदम्बे भवानी। तुम्हरी महिमा सबने जानी॥ जो कोई पढ़े तुम्हारा नाम। उतरै भवसागर आराम॥

Transliteration: Jaya jaya jaya Jagadambe Bhavānī. Tumharī mahimā sabne jānī. Jo koī paṛhe tumhārā nām. Utarai bhavsāgar ārām.

Meaning: Victory, victory to you, O Mother Bhavani! Your glory is known to all. Whoever chants your holy name, Will peacefully cross the ocean of worldly life.

अंत समय जब मन घबराए। शरण तुम्हारी माँ तब पाए॥ भव से मुक्ति सहज हो जावे। धाम तुम्हारा भक्त को पावे॥

Transliteration: Ant samay jab man ghabarāe. Śaraṇ tumhārī māṁ tab pāe. Bhav se mukti sahaj ho jāve. Dhām tumhārā bhakt ko pāve.

Meaning: At the time of death, when the mind is anxious, Let the soul find refuge in you, O Mother. Then liberation will come easily, And your divine abode shall be attained by your devotee.

दुर्गा चालीसा जो गावे। सकल सिद्धि सहज ही पावे॥ भव भय मिटे सुख संपत्ति पावे। अंत में दुर्गा लोक सिधावे॥

Transliteration: Durgā Chālīsā jo gāve. Sakal siddhi sahaj hī pāve. Bhav bhay miṭe sukh sampatti pāve. Ant meṁ Durgā lok sidhāve.

Meaning: Whoever sings this Durga Chalisa, Shall easily gain all divine powers. Worldly fears will vanish and joy will come, And in the end, they shall reach Durga’s divine realm.
